Marc G. Nuger, DDS
Dr. Nuger has been practicing family and cosmetic dentistry for over 44 years. He graduated college in 1975, with a degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Then continued his education at the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry and completed his DDS degree in 1979. After graduating dental school, Dr. Nuger started practicing dentistry in Glen Burnie, Maryland. In 2002, along with Dr. Sircus, the Columbia, MD office was opened. For many years Dr. Nuger was the staff dentist for Maryland Manor Nursing Home in Glen Burnie.
Starting in May, 2024, Dr. Nuger will be working 3 days a week. His son in law, Dr. Matthew Gerald, will be joining the practice two days a week. Matthew graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2010. He has been practicing in Northern Virginia for the past 13 years.
Dr. Nuger is comfortable providing a wide range of dental services for children, adults, and the elderly. He is happy to provide services for patients with complicated medical histories and if necessary will discuss the recommended treatment with your physician. Dr. Nuger is very patient and at ease during your treatment. He is committed to providing various phases of general dentistry to patients of all ages, with a smile and warm personality. Dr. Nuger takes great pride in the number of patients and their families he has continued to treat for over 30 to 40 years. To him, the long lasting relationships he is able to develop, along with providing optimal care to his patients in a warm friendly environment, are the most rewarding parts of his dental practice.
Annually, Dr. Nuger attends continuing education courses that enable him to stay at the forefront of general dentistry. This allows him to offer his patients the finest care and the most current treatment options available. He enjoys advanced courses in implant dentistry, root canal therapy, oral surgery, cosmetic dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and occlusion (your bite).
Dr. Nuger has been a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Maryland State Dental Association (MSDA), and the Anne Arundel County Dental Society (AACDS) throughout his professional career. He has served AACDS as president, treasurer, program chairman, peer review chairman, and delegate to the MSDA. He has spent nine years on the MSDA’s board of trustees, including being the state dental association’s president in 2008/2009. Dr. Nuger currently chairs or serves on other state committees such as continuing education, legislative, and MSDA CERP (Continuing Education Recognized Provider). On a national level, Dr. Nuger has represented Maryland as a delegate to the ADA and is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. Dr. Nuger continues to use his professional skills in the community. He has worked with many of the Maryland Mission of Mercy dental clinics. In the office he treats patients through Anne Arundel County’s Gray Area Program and the Maryland Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped. He has worked with the MSDA in the past as an instructor for dental assisting and dental radiology for dental assistants.
Dr. Nuger has continued in various positions and committees with the ADA, MSDA, and the AACDS since 2009 to the present. He has been on the dental school’s Alumni Board for 10 years and recently finished a two year term as President of the board. He has taught courses for dental CE involving “HIPAA and Dentistry” and “Proper Prescribing for Dentists”, to limit the use of opioid prescriptions. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists and currently serving a 4 year commission for the ADA’s CERP program. This program allows the ADA to approve high quality Dental Continuing Education providers throughout the country and the world.
Dr. Nuger resides in Ellicott City and enjoys activities such as tennis, pickleball, skiing, and bike riding. He and his wife, a retired dental hygienist, enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren. His daughter is a pediatric dentist and his son works in the computer and software division of his company. His part time schedule will allow him to see patients that have been a part of his practice for many, many years. It will also allow him more time with his family, sports activities, and his work with the dental school, the MSDA and the ADA.
Ben A. Sircus, DDS
Dr. Sircus has been practicing family and cosmetic dentistry for over twelve years. He graduated college in 1996, with a degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park. His Doctor of Dental Surgery degree was completed in 2000 at the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry. Dr. Sircus joined Dr. Nuger at the Glen Burnie office in December, 2000. He and Dr. Nuger quickly realized their associateship was an excellent match for forming a partnership, and in 2002, they opened a second office in Columbia.
Dr. Sircus is happy to offer the necessary treatment plans for all his patients: children, adults, and the elderly. These treatment plans are suited to meet individual health care needs. He is meticulous, knowledgeable, and always concerned with your comfort during the dental procedure. Dr. Sircus has a friendly demeanor and enjoys dentistry. He is careful to pay attention to every detail during treatment.
Continuing his education is important and enjoyable for Dr. Sircus. He has advanced training in dental implantology. Graduating from the Columbia University Implantology Continuum, he has continued his training to become a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. The dental implant can be used as single crowns, anchors for bridges, and strong support and retention under dentures. He has participated in multiple study clubs, currently participating in the Progressive Dental Study Club. He stays current with his continuing education requirements. He especially enjoys courses in implants, cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
Dr. Sircus enjoys contributing to our local community as well as traveling abroad to help others throughout the world. This December will be his fifth trip abroad serving in third world countries. He will be part of a full medical mission team to treat medically unreached people for a week. Dr. Sircus enjoys the challenge of being able to provide emergency and preventative dental treatment for these people.
He has been involved in organized dentistry since his graduation from dental school. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, and the Howard County Dental Association. He has also served on the New Dentist Committee for the MSDA. Dr. Sircus is also a member of the Maryland Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped, and is happy to donate treatment for these patients as well.
Dr. Sircus resides in Elkridge with his wife and three children. His wife, Janine, works as a temporary Dental Hygienist in the Howard County area. He and his wife are very active at Grace Community Church in Howard County. Dr. Sircus also enjoys participating in an indoor soccer league every weekend. Together they enjoy spending time with their family and friends.
Christine Hoang, DDS
Dr. Christine Hoang is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. She attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County as a Dean’s Scholar and received her Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences. She continued her education at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where she pursued her interests and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During her time at Maryland she was able to serve as a pediatric clerk for two year. After finishing dental school, she completed a general practice residency in York, Pennsylvania which has provided her with additional training in all aspects of dentistry, including oral surgery, restorative, cosmetic dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and emergency treatment.
Dr. Hoang has had the pleasure to serve in many charitable events allowing her to serve and give back to the community. Some of these include Mission of Mercy, Helping Up Mission, and Special Olympics. Dr. Hoang is committed to providing excellent dental care and is looking forward to using her skills to serve our community.
Outside of the office, Dr. Hoang enjoys various activities, such as traveling, recreational sports, and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Patricia Hoang
Dr. Patricia Hoang is the newest addition to Maryland Family Dentistry. She completed her undergraduate education at University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and went on to complete her dental education at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. After graduation, she went on to complete a general practice residency at Wellspan Hospital in York, Pennsylvania.
During her time in dental school and residency, Dr. Hoang had the opportunity to participate in various volunteer events, including Mission of Mercy, Hope for Tomorrow, and provided dental care to nursing home residents through Wellspan Hospital Mobile Dental Unit.
Dr. Hoang is dedicated to working with her patients to provide appropriate care in a comfortable setting. She strives to educate patients on the dental care they are receiving, and how to maintain good dental habits.
When she is not at the office, Dr. Hoang enjoys crafting, video games, and tending to her indoor plant collection.
